Vinted Members Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Changes

Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in items being listed as the wrong size.

The popular resale platform has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's garments but did not contact every member regarding the update.

Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping.

The platform stated the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

They have suggested members to review their products and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated.

Sizing System Changes

Earlier, the sizes had both one number and one letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

User Accounts

One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

A different member, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.

Necessary Adjustments

A different user, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".

"This situation is especially annoying, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said.

Platform Context

The platform boasts over 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: previously, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
